Favorite Activities

Writing about all the remarkable people, places and things found in Western New York. Spending time doing anything with family. Attending any of the great local theater productions. Bills, Sabres and or Bisons games. Dining out -- from the Anchor Bar to the Buffalo Chop House. Spending time along the waterfront morning, noon, and night.

5 Things I love about Buffalo

The people, the four seasons, the diverse ethnic cultures and traditions, the architecture of the city as well as the suburbs and rural towns, the food.

My favorite local hidden treasure you shouldn't miss

In the spring and summer the gardens around St. Joseph's Cathedral on Franklin Street are absolutely stunning and offer a wonderful spot in the middle of downtown to reflect and enjoy nature's beauty.

My perfect day spent in the Buffalo area

Start off with a breakfast of chocolate chip and peanut butter chip pancakes at Pegasus Restaurant in Hamburg. Head downtown for a stroll among the architectural treasures that define Buffalo's core. Go to the top of City Hall for the best free 360-degree view of The Queen City. Depending on the weather, walk over to The Hatch for a waterfront lunch followed by a boat ride on Miss Buffalo, or stop by The Anchor Bar for original recipe wings and then spend the early afternoon wandering through the artist studios at The Tri-Main Center. Enjoy an afternoon repast at Tru Teas on Elmwood. Stroll in and out of the shops in the Elmwood Village. Stop by Harry's Harbour Place Grille for a drink and a spectacular sunset view from their upstairs deck. Journey to the Shannon Pub for some Irish music, food and drink. Head home happily exhausted.and very full.
