5 Things I love about Buffalo
  1. The weather. Really! Spectacular summers, fabulous fall season.
  2. I can walk to my bank, the post office, Guercio's market on Grant Street and the Lexington Co-Op on Elmwood Avenue. I walk home from work with my wife and my dogs almost every day from April to November.
  3. My mortgage is under $500 a month and my taxes are $600 a year.
  4. Location, location, location. 90 minutes by car to Toronto, an hour by plane to NYC.
  5. The people. Mostly, the ones who have resided in other places and know what a great place Buffalo is to live.

My favorite local hidden treasures you shouldn’t miss

Outside of Buffalo is Letchworth State Park - more spectacular than Niagara Falls and less crowded. Bicycling along the Niagara River or through the city’s Olmsted Park System. A Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra concert at Kleinhans Music Hall.

My perfect day spent in the Buffalo-area

A walk to the see one of the world’s best collections of modern art at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Then walk down Elmwood Avenue checking out the eclectic shops and dining establishments. And no day can ever go wrong when you have dinner at Left Bank, one of Buffalo’s most celebrated restaurants.
