Hull Family Home & Farmstead Tours
The c.1810 Hull House -- the oldest stone dwelling in Erie County, NY -- is a rare piece of early American architecture in western New York. Located on Genesee Street in the Town of Lancaster, the Hull House is currently being restored by the Hull House Foundation as an educational and interpretive center for early 19th century life in the Western New York frontier. The restoration project has begun with the house which stands on its original site, and will expand to include the restoration of a mid 19th century barn and requisite out buildings such as a privy, forge barn, well, smoke house and animal pens.

Pan-American Walking Tours
The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society (BECHS) is presenting its annual series of walking tours of the former 1901 Pan American Exposition, grounds, now one of Buffalo's most popular residential neighborhoods.
BECHS popular docent-led tour--an easy one and a half hour walk--features historical spots and notable happenings from the almost year-long expo. Highlights include the point where the 375 foot Electric Tower once stood, exploring the location where a 12,000-seat stadium held mock battles, and the opportunity to stand where McKinley was shot by a young anarchist.

Tours are weather permitting with no rain date.

Echo: Sampling Visual Culture
ECHO: Sampling Visual Culture will explore a selection of contemporary artists from the Gallery's Permanent Collection who incorporate humor and appropriation into their artmaking.
In addition to works by artists such as Louis Cameron, Sherrie Levine, Tom Sachs, Robert Therrien, Vik Muniz, and Kara Walker, the exhibition will include more historical works by artists such as Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, who were among one of the first generations of artists to draw upon mass culture and popular media such as advertising, comic books, and newspapers.

Opening day of the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market in Buffalo is Saturday, May 8. The market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through Dec. 18. REMIX: Sol LeWitt
Organized by Curator Heather Pesanti, this exhibition in the Clifton Hall Link complements the ongoing installation of the artist's graphite wall drawing on the walls surrounding the stairwell that connects the 1962 Knox building and the 1905 Albright building. Consisting of a range of works on paper and books by the artist in the Gallery's Collection, as well as ephemera and other materials, it will provide additional context for the wall drawing and reflects the museums longstanding interest in collecting works in depth by this seminal artist.
